Solved! Scottish Crime Writers Come to SMC

Posted on 24th Nov 2015 in Stewart's Melville College, Charity, Events

Last night we were delighted to host Scotland's foremost crime writers at Stewart's Melville College for an evening of literary entertainment in aid of Meningitis Now.

The event marked the beginning of Book Week Scotland 2015 and featured crime writers Christopher Brookmyre (Dead Girl Walking), Alex Gray (Keep the Midnight Out), Doug Johnstone (The Jump) and Sara Sheridan (Mirabelle Bevan Mysteries). The featured authors came together to give the audience insight into their books and their writing followed by lively discussion and question and answer sessions chaired by Peggy Hughes, Director of Literary Dundee.

All monies raised from the event went to support the charity Meningitis Now in memory of Finlay Bennett, a Stewart's Melville College teacher's son and avid reader, who died last summer having contracted a strain of Meningitis.
