Teacher Assistant (Nursery to Primary 7)

We are looking to appoint a Teacher Assistant from 24 August 2020 to work from 07.30 to 08.30 in Early Birds and from 08.30 to 15.15, Monday to Friday, with 30 minutes unpaid for lunch, a total paid working week of 36.25 hours, during term time only, in order to cover staff absence and to assist with other practical tasks.  If interested, there may also be the opportunity to become involved in 420 Bus Club (15.30 – 16.30).  While it is anticipated that the majority of the work will be carried out on the Ravelston site, there may be a need to work on the Queensferry Road site as well.

The salary will be £13,590 to £14,505, which is Scale Points B4 to C8 on the ESMS Support Staff Salary Scales, dependent on qualifications and experience.

Teacher Assistants support the teaching staff within the classroom and with administration, supervise children in the playground, on coaches travelling between Stewart's Melville College and The Mary Erskine School, and on school trips.

ESMS Junior School

Assistant Janitor

We have a vacancy from Monday 24 August 2020 until Thursday 1 April 2021 for an Assistant Janitor, who will be accountable to the Head Janitor, and who will be responsible for facilitating the efficient operation of the ESMS schools.  He/she must ensure the safety, security and cleanliness of the schools, and prepare the schools for all school activities.  There are two main school sites: Queensferry Road and Ravelston.  Applicants must be willing to work across the school sites as required.

The Assistant Janitor is entitled to a paid working week of 46.875 hours on rotational shifts.  The salary will be £23,571 to £24,603 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.

Teacher Assistant

We invite applications for a Teacher Assistant from Thursday 20 August 2020 to work from 09.00 to 15.00, Monday to Friday, with 45 minutes (unpaid) for lunch, a total paid working week of 26.25 hours, during term time only.  The successful candidate will be required to provide administrative support to teaching staff in a number of departments, organise information for educational trips, and provide support and assistance for school events.  You must be able to work as part of a team, as well as on your own initiative, with the ability to prioritise your workload and to have a good attention to detail.  A good knowledge of Microsoft packages is essential.

The annual salary will be based on a scale ranging from £9,699 to £10,467, depending on qualifications and experience.
