Head of Chemistry

The Mary Erskine School is seeking to appoint a full time, permanent Head of Chemistry from 19 August 2021. ESMS staff are passionate, pioneering and strive for excellence in everything they do. The postholder is responsible for providing leadership to all members of the department. Remuneration will be on ESMS’ own scale, which is above that paid in the state sector to reflect commitment to the extra-curricular programme and is dependent on qualifications and experience. Talent Development Hockey Coach

Stewart’s Melville College are recruiting for a Talent Development Hockey Coach. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated coach, with the personality and drive to make a difference to our schools strong and ever-developing hockey programme. The postholder would be working with players who are just picking up a stick for the first time to those who are currently part of the Scotland U16 and U18 National squads. Alongside the Head of Hockey, the postholder would continue to drive the development of our programme that has been fortunate enough to win numerous national titles at both U15 and U18 level over the past 10 years, running tours domestically and internationally (most recently to South Africa in 2018). The role would suit candidates from a number of different backgrounds: from those looking to develop their career as a full-time hockey coach, to qualified or aspiring PE Teachers, to performance hockey players who wish to develop their coaching craft within a school environment.

This is a permanent, term time position available from 23 August 2021 for 27.5 hours per week. The starting salary will be £20,877 per annum (ESMS Support Staff Scales H30).

Cricket Professional

This is a permanent, term time position available from 23 August 2021. The postholder will be paid in the range of £15 to £20 per hour, dependent upon qualifications and experience, and will be required to complete a timesheet for hours worked. A degree of flexibility is required in this role however we anticipate that the postholder will be contracted for 7.5 hours per week during the winter term (September to March), and 18 hours per week during the summer term (April to July).

Teacher of Business Education

Stewart’s Melville College is seeking to appoint a permanent, full time Teacher of Business Education who is willing to deliver Business Management up to SQA Higher Level with National 5 Economics, to join the school on 19 August 2021. Supply Teacher Assistant

The Junior School at Erskine Stewart’s Melville Schools (ESMS) are recruiting for Teacher Assistants to join our bank of supply staff. The ESMS Junior School is a large, co-educational, independent junior school of approximately 1250 children who become members of either The Mary Erskine School (MES) or Stewart’s Melville College (SMC) when they finish Primary 7.

The Nursery and Primary 1-3 classrooms in the Junior School are situated within the grounds of The Mary Erskine School at Ravelston, and Primary 4-7 children are based within the grounds of Stewart’s Melville College on Queensferry Road.
