Teacher of Modern Studies and Politics – Closing 21 March

The Mary Erskine School is seeking to appoint a permanent part-time Teacher of Modern Studies and Politics to join the school in August 2024 (subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks). An ability to teach another subject could result in this being a full-time post. The postholder will be required to be able to teach at all levels up to Advanced Higher and an ability to teach Higher Politics would also be preferred. A willingness to contribute to the school’s extra-curricular programme is also essential.

This is a part time position for approximately 16 hours. Remuneration will be on the ESMS A scale (£34,508 - £49,977 per annum) and is dependent on qualifications and experience. As this is a part time role, the salary range will be £26,291 to £38,077 per annum.

Sports Attendant – Open Vacancy

The ESMS Sports Centre at Queensferry Road are recruiting for 3 Sports Attendants to join our staff on a permanent basis.

The centre is part of the Ravelston Sports Club, a members club serving the community of ESMS Schools. Membership is open to School pupils, staff and the families of these groups. We also, offer community membership for residents within the local area.

On a day-to-day basis as a Sports Attendant, you will be responsible for acting as first point of contact for our customers, creating a welcoming environment and helping our customers to get the best experience on every visit.

Position 1:

Hours of work may vary from week to week; however we can anticipate the postholder will be contracted for an average of 34.5 hours per week, on a 2-week rotational shifts. Remuneration will be on the ESMS Support Staff Salary Scale C which is £20,186 - £20,690 per annum (£11.22 - £11.51 per hour) and is depending upon experience and qualifications.

Positions 2 and 3:

Hours of work may vary from week to week; however we can anticipate the postholder will be contracted for an average of 20.25 hours per week, on a 2-week rotational shifts. Remuneration will be on the ESMS Support Staff Salary Scale C which is £11,848 - £12,144 per annum (£11.22 - £11.51 per hour) and is depending upon experience and qualifications.

Sports Attendant and Duty Supervisor – Open Vacancy

The ESMS Sports Centre at Ravelston are recruiting for 2 part-time Sports Attendants and Duty Supervisors to join our staff on a permanent basis for two days per week. ¾ of the shifts will be as a Duty Supervisor and ¼ of the shifts as a Sports Attendant.

The centre is part of the Ravelston Sports Club, a members club serving the community of ESMS Schools. Membership is open to School pupils, staff and the families of these groups. We also, offer community membership for residents within the local area.

On a day-to-day basis as a Duty Supervisor, you will play a key role in supervising the financial, human and physical resources on a shift-to-shift basis achieving the financial, customer, employee, internal business processes and learning growth objectives of the organisation and to provide line supervision, support, guidance and leadership to facility staff to deliver excellent customer service.

As a Sports Attendant, you will be responsible for acting as first point of contact for our customers, creating a welcoming environment and helping our customers to get the best experience on every visit.

Hours of work may vary from week to week, however we can anticipate the postholder will be contracted for an average of 11.25 hours per week over 2 days, on a 2-week rotational shifts. Remuneration will be on the ESMS Support Staff Salary Scale C for shifts as a Sports Attendant (£11.22 - £11.51 per hour) and E for shifts as a Duty Supervisor (£12.95 per hour) and is depending upon experience and qualifications.

After School and Holiday Club Practitioners – Open Vacancy

We are currently recruiting for After School and Holiday Club Practitioners in the ESMS Junior School. Working within an enthusiastic and dynamic team, successful candidates will be responsible for the out of school care of children aged from Nursery to 12 years based at either Queensferry Road or Ravelston. Positions are available immediately, subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks.

We are currently offering Monday to Friday positions. Hours of work will be between 1:30pm and 6:00pm or 3.00pm and 6.00pm (depending on site) during term time and on a rota basis during holiday periods. Remuneration will be dependent on qualifications and experience. The desirable candidate will be available for 5 days per week, however candidates available 4 consecutive days per week will also be considered.

Unqualified After School and Holiday Club Practitioners will be paid on ESMS e-Plus Scale point 8- 11 (£10.95 - £11.79 per hour). Qualified After School and Holiday Club Practitioners will be paid on ESMS e-Plus Scale point 13-16 (£12.18 - £12.95 per hour). With a range of additional benefits.

Cleaning Operatives - Open Vacancy

Erskine Stewart’s Melville Schools (ESMS) are recruiting for a number of part time cleaning positions to join our friendly and committed cleaning team on a permanent basis. The postholders will work across the Queensferry Road and Ravelston sites.

We have a cleaning team of 42 operatives a number of whom have worked at ESMS for over 15 years. Our teams are passionate, pioneering and strive for excellence in everything they do. Hours of Work:

Monday to Friday 3.00pm to 9.00pm. A paid working week of 30 hours.

Salary:

£10.95 per hour (£17,127 per annum).

Location:

The postholders will work across the Queensferry Road and Ravelston sites.

Holidays:

Excellent annual leave entitlement with 25 days holiday leave and 10 days statutory holiday at Christmas and Easter, when the Schools are closed. The Schools’ holiday year runs from January to December.
