Director of Communications

The Erskine Stewart’s Melville Schools are seeking to appoint a Director of Communications from August or September 2019 who will provide leadership and management to all aspects of communications and marketing.  This is a senior appointment and the post holder will report to the Principal and be a member of the Senior Management Team.  This newly created post will suit a well-qualified professional, who has a proven track record as a creative and strategic leader.  Experience of working in the education sector is desirable.  Salary will be competitive, based on experience.

Logistics Manager

The Erskine Stewart's Melville Schools are searching for a professional, self motivated individual to fill the role of Logistics Manager from 1 August 2019.  This is a full-time, permanent position and the hours of work will be 8.30 am to 4.30 pm, Monday to Friday.  The annual salary will be £39,504 to £41,532, depending on qualifications and experience.  The successful candidate will manage the logistical operations within the schools, including responsibility for maintaining the Schools’ Calendar, chairing the Calendar Committee, scheduling and co-ordinating the schools’ transport requirements.

Food Service Assistant (5 Positions)

We are looking to appoint responsible members of the ESMS community to create a team of Food Service Assistants (also known as Lunch Supervisors) to oversee the New Ravelston dining facility from 19 August 2019.  Successful applicants will be ready to support our Nursery and Primary 1 children as they enjoy hot lunches in our new dining pods.  These spaces are designed to replicate a ‘family dining’ experience.  The successful applicants will have to be comfortable working with small children and appreciate the importance of encouraging good behaviour and manners as our children learn to eat together.

The role requires availability from 11.30 am to 1.30 pm, Monday to Friday, during term time only when children are attending lessons.  Whilst a five day per week availability is the preference, we will also consider other options.

The salary will be £3,696, which is Scale Point B4 on the ESMS Support Staff Salary Scales.

The schools' wraparound care services continue to expand and we are always interested to hear from those who are interested to work in our evolving Early Morning, After School and Holiday Clubs. Working within an enthusiastic and dynamic team, staff are responsible for the out of school care of boys and girls aged from 3 to 7 years, based on The Mary Erskine School campus at Ravelston, or with those aged 8 to 12 years, based on the Stewart's Melville College campus at Queensferry Road.
