P1 Assessment Week will begin on Monday 11 January for entry into Primary 1 classes in August 2021.
The Primary 1 assessment is a 45-60 minute fun activity session. A friendly and experienced teacher will spend time with your child, getting to know them so we can gauge their educational needs.
Your child will enjoy games, activities and puzzles with a member of staff who will get to know your child whilst having fun together. We are not looking for children who can read or write. We are simply looking to see how they ask questions, follow instructions, listen carefully and communicate with us. Activities will include memory and recall, sorting and fine motor skills.
If you have decided you would like your child to join our family of schools, please book your slot by contacting our Admissions Manager, Hannah Ireland, on email@example.com at your earliest convenience. Hannah would also welcome any questions you may have at this stage.

S1 Assessment Day for August 2020 entry will be held on Saturday 9 January 2021.
This year, S1 Assessment Day will take place on a Saturday rather than during a school day to ensure the safety of both new applicants and our pupils. Assessments will be held in small groups of 6-8 children in large classrooms to allow us to maintain a minimum of two metres for social distancing at all times. The assessment will include papers in Mathematics, English and Verbal Reasoning.
Regrettably, our usual parents’ welcome coffee with the Principal will not take place.
If you are ready to register your child's place at our S1 Assessment Day, parents/guardians are asked to complete our online application form to book your spot at Assessment Day. Our Admissions Managers will then be in touch to invite you to join us on the day. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs Wright at Stewart's Melville College on firstname.lastname@example.org or Mrs Bryan at The Mary Erskine School on email@example.com at your earliest convenience.
