Summer of Success for MES Highland Dancing Star!

Posted on 04th Sep 2014 in The Mary Erskine School, Competitions, Music and Drama

Congratulations to Sinead Millar, runner up in the East of Scotland Highland Dancing Championship and third in the British Open Championship, both held at the Edinburgh Festival of Dancing and the Arts. These fantastic results mean that, Sinead has been selected to represent Edinburgh and the Lothians in the 6 person team which will compete at the Area Team finals being held at the Highland and Island Festival in Oban next April/May.

At Cowal games last week, Sinead was runner up in the Scottish National Championship in the age 15 years category, and in the qualifier for the World Championship Finals, competing against dancers from all over the world, she made the top ten but narrowly missed qualifying for the finals as only the top 6 in her age group progress.

The next stop for Sinead is the Ryder Cup Ladies Day on Tuesday 23 September at the Balmoral Hotel where she will dance at an event being held for the wives and partners of the golfers competing at this year's Ryder Cup at Gleneagles.
