Primary 4-7

Growing and Learning in Primary 4-7

Based at our Queensferry Road site, our Primary 4 to Primary 7 children develop a greater sense of independence and benefit from additional specialist teaching.

With their own year group areas for play and learning, the children quickly learn to feel comfortable and enjoy the high expectations set for them which allow them to perform to the best of their ability and discover their own talents and skills.

The ESMS Junior School also offers a wealth of opportunities in Sport, Music, Performing Arts, and in extra-curricular clubs and activities. With more teams, choirs, orchestras and shows than many other schools, it allows for more children to be included and to find something they love to do.

Throughout our schools, we give our children the opportunity to be stretched and challenged which helps them grow in confidence.

This includes activities such as last year’s ESMS Challenge walk which saw 20 Primary 7 children and teachers walk 55 miles along the West Highland Way to raise money for charities including our Access to Excellence bursary fund.

We also offer a variety of trips to further encourage independence including residential camps for all years from Primary 4-7, sporting tours for football, rugby and hockey and overseas trips for Primary 6 and 7.

Our values underpin everything we do in the ESMS Junior School and by the time they reach the age of 12, children are ready for the next stage of their education and leave our Junior School as articulate, self-reliant and confident young people who are well prepared for senior school and for the different challenges of life to come.

If you are considering a Junior School place for your child, we would be delighted to show you around. Contact us on 0131 311 1115 or admissions@esms.org.uk, or find out more about Junior School Admissions.
