Leavers' Destinations

98% of our Sixth Form students gain admission to the university of their choice

Of those who went on to university this year, 34% are attending English, Welsh and Northern Irish universities, 53% are attending Scottish universities and some Sixth Formers are choosing to attend European or North American universities.  Significant numbers attend Russell Group universities and Oxbridge.

These numbers compare favourably with the 58% of school leavers going on to Higher or Further Education from all Scottish schools.  7 Sixth Form Students are moving into Further Education while 9 from Stewart’s Melville College and 8 from The Mary Erskine School are taking gap years before university. Other destinations include an Internship with the New York Times, pilot training with CAE Oxford and joining BIMM (The British and Irish Modern Music Institute).
