Sixth Form Leavers' Destinations

Posted on 13th Dec 2022 in

We were delighted that our students had another year of excellent SQA exam results at National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher levels, earlier this year (view them in full here). A fantastic 97% of our leavers secured their firm choice of university. Scottish qualifications continue to be respected throughout the UK and internationally and we couldn’t be prouder of their achievements.

The  extenseive list of destinations that our Sixth Form leavers have gone on to includes Oxford, Cambridge, Glasgow, St Andrews, Glasgow School of Art, Northwestern University (USA) and London School of Economics.

The application process for higher education is not easy, and our students have shown great determination in securing a place at their chosen institution. For example, Trinity College requires an entirely different application procedure, Glasgow School of Art demands an incredibly detailed and creative portfolio, and Swansea University Osteopathy course expects a tremendous amount of practical experience, in addition to an excellent set of grades.

ESMS Principal, Mr Anthony Simpson, said:

“It was a big year for our students with the return of in-person exams and a much fuller school calendar, and I am delighted to see how they rose to the challenge. These results reflect a huge amount of determination, focus and hard work. The future is bright for them all and they should be incredibly proud of what they have achieved.”

We can’t wait to hear how all our former students are getting on as they reach the end of their first term!
