Nursery for 3 Year Olds

Our youngest children are cared for in the Snowdrop room by qualified, experienced staff, with an excellent staff to child ratio of 1:5

Our nursery room for 3 years olds allows our youngest children direct access to safe and secure outdoor learning spaces where they can play and explore throughout the day.

Our Snowdrop children enjoy learning through play in our bright, well-resourced and purpose-built Nursery 1 room which has direct access to the outdoors. The children are supported and cared for by 8 experienced and qualified staff and an excellent staff to child ratio of 1:5 means every aspect of a childs development can be nurtured. Our programme is specially designed to meet the emotional and educational needs of our youngest children. Children can join us at the start of the session in August, if they are three by then, or at any time after that once they have turned three.

Fun activities

Throughout the day, children have the opportunity to engage in a wide variety of activities, all carefully planned to nurture the development of the whole child. Whether it is moving tyres around the garden, inventing exciting models with our Loose Parts, being introduced to Mark Making with a variety of materials, helping to prepare, eat and wash up after Snack or jumping in puddles, each activity makes learning fun. Additional opportunities each week in PE, Digital Learning, Music, Forest Kindergarten and Library are provided and taken care of by our team of specialists.

I would not hesitate to recommend this nursery to other parents as a happy, nurturing environment where children thrive

Flexible care

Children attend from 8.30am - 2.30pm each day during term time, with our popular e-Plus services offering flexible before and after school care based within the same room. Families can tailor care packages to suit their needs including an early drop off from 7.45am or after school club from 2.30pm - 6pm. Children can also be collected at 12.30pm if families do not want them to stay for lunch, which is provided at a small cost in line with the other year groups.

We would love for you to visit our Nursery and see it in action and families are welcome to visit us any time. Contact us at nursery@esms.org.uk or 0131 347 5777 to arrange a visit, or find out more about Nursery Admissions.
