ESMS Fencing Success

Posted on 14th Jul 2014 in ESMS, Sport, Competitions

On Saturday the 21st of June, ESMS Fencing Club Captain Ailsa Morrison and Comrie Saville-Ferguson (then both S5) competed in the Scottish Youth Fencing Championships held in Edinburgh.  Ailsa fenced in the under-17 and under-20 Foil events, narrowly losing her semi-final in the under-20 competition, gaining a bronze medal. In the afternoon she came first in the under-17 competition, after some very exciting and nerve-wracking fights. She won her semi-final 15-13 after being 4-10 down after the first break, and went on to win a similarly dramatic final to become under-17 Women's Scottish Champion.   Comrie had an equally successful day of competing and reigned supreme scooping the gold medal to become the under-17 Men's Scottish Champion.  ESMS Fencing is in good health for the future.

The ESMS Club is experiencing something of a renaissance and warmly invites any new pupils to join us. No experience necessary!
